Q. Is there work opportunities on campus or in the area?

A. Your first 2 terms are extremely busy and you should not count on working.

A few students work in the library or as computer trouble-shooters in the evenings. Others are chosen by their faculty to be research assistants or teaching assistants. These positions go mostly to second year students. Our Non-Degree programs often need "facilitators" to assist in discussions with our short-term students. Some students teach English on an individual basis.

All this said, you should not expect to find work during your stay at IUJ.

Some scholarships (namely JDS, IMF) prohibit students from earning any money while at IUJ other than their scholarships.

Spouses accompanying students, and who require a spouse visa, are NOT eligible to work in Japan.

Q. What kinds of clubs are on campus?

A. MANY sports clubs, cultural clubs and academic clubs are on campus and participation is active. Students organize their own clubs and take the lead to make them exciting and active. Sports clubs include basketball, badminton, judo, aerobics (when instructors are available), tennis, and many more. Cultural clubs include Balai ASEAN and many more. Academic clubs include Finance, Advertising and Consulting, Marketing, IT and Human Resource profession clubs.

Students form problem-solving and organizational committees such as: GSO Graduate Student Organization that is the overall leadership of the student body and provides the budget for each club, the MBA and IR Councils that deal with academic quality on campus. More clubs of this nature exist to assist various departments such as the library and computing facilties.
