Last month IUJ received a donation of 324 products worth about 30 million yen from Samsung Japan. On August 3, President of Samsung Japan, Mr. Lee Chang-Yul visited IUJ to hold a presentation ceremony of their donation.
President Lee said, "The mission of IUJ to provide an advanced professional training to educate true global leaders is consistent with our corporate philosophy to devote our human resources and technology to create superior products and services, thereby contributing to a better global society," and he handed over the list of 324 products in 7 commodity items to IUJ President Yamazawa.
In his 'thank-you' address President Yamazawa said, "IUJ has been receiving support from Japanese companies, but today one of the biggest Korean companies is giving us support. We are very encouraged to know that our efforts of providing 'international public goods' have been recognized.”
Ms. Yulia Limanova from Russia thanked Samsung Japan on behalf of the student body. She started with welcoming words in Korea and continued to say, "Your generosity not only helps us in our studies but also for improvement of our living facilities and recreation."
After the ceremony, President Lee and his entourage went on to the tour of campus to observe donated facilities.
