IUJ Unplugged Night" was started with the hope that IUJ students, faculty, staff, and their families could listen to acoustic music and relax outside their busy lives, studies and jobs. The "Nakayama Singers" organizes the event in early March every year.
Local residents from Yamato-machi and Muika-machi as well as the people in the IUJ community performed, and the audience enjoyed chorus music, vocal solos, and musical instruments such as guitar, violin, and piano. It was a heart-warming experience for audience and performers alike.
"Nakayama Singers" was founded in 1996 to fulfill a wish by Mr. Sohei Nakayama, a founder of IUJ, that IUJ students, faculty, staff, and their families and local people could interact actively through music. The group enjoys Ms. Reiko Takanami's services as instructor for practices for such occasions as "IUJ Unplugged Night."
