Summary of IUJ Math Test

The IUJ Math Test consists of 12 multiple-choice questions. The questions are based on the Japanese high school math curriculum.

Topics covered in the test include:

  • arithmetic and algebra (fractions, decimals, ratios, percentages, roots and powers, logarithms, matrices, factoring, equations, inequalities, trigonometry, etc.)
  • functions, graphs, and geometry
  • basic calculus (differentiation, integration, max & min values)
  • sets, probability, and elementary statistics (mean, median, mode, variance, etc.)
  • miscellaneous word problems

The test level is equivalent to the GMAT Quant Test. The test period is one hour, and applicants cannot use a calculator. There is no penalty to a wrong answer.

Applicants may consider the IUJ Math Test as one of the standard tests (such as the GMAT or GRE). We believe that there is no quick way to improve math scores in the short term.

Here are several questions from the past for your reference.
