IUJ ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF PhD PROGRAM

news1The International University of Japan (IUJ) has been providing international education and research in its Master’s programs and fostering many leaders and professionals in the international arena.

Owing to its efforts and achievements in international education, leading globalization of graduate education in Japan, IUJ was recently selected for the “Top Global University Project” as promoted by the Japanese Government to tackle with the pressing need for globalization of universities and human resources in Japan.

In response to a strong need for higher level professionals in the global society, GSIR will launch a PhD Program in September 2015.

Targeting future leaders in international organizations, public organizations and/or governments, the PhD Program aims at fostering high level professionals playing an important role in the international arena with theoretical, analytical and practical abilities as well as fostering scholars competent in international society.
Degrees offered: PhD in Economics, PhD in Public Management and PhD in International Relations.

The Graduate School of International Management (MBA and E-Business Management Programs) has decided to provide one more opportunity for residents of countries other than Japan to join IUJ.The schedule is:

Announcement of Results: June 3, 2015There is no change in the application documents.
If you do not have TOEFL/IELTS/TOEIC* score and/or GMAT/GRE score(only for MBA applicants), please take the test(s) as soon as possible to meet the deadline.

IUJ and NUT agreed to conclude a treaty of inclusive connection and held a signing ceremony on February 19.

This treaty is to cooperate with each other in various fields such as educational study, community contribution, interaction between students and school personnel, promotion of globalization and so on due to contribute academic field and community.

After the signing, IUJ president Shinichi Kitaoka stated “I’m really glad to conclude the treaty. Both NUT and IUJ have unique aspects. I desire to contribute to society sharing strength of each university.” and then NUT president Koichi Niihara stated “I would like to establish double degree program between NUT and IUJ (IUJ-NUT Joint Program). We are able to promote a person who is professional both of engineering and management beyond academic disciplines.”

Last September, 37 universities were selected for Japan’s “Top Global University Project” by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Only Niigata prefecture has two universities of “Top Global University Project” in provincial cities.

IUJ and NUT are very different. NUT is a national university, while IUJ is private, but they are both planning globalization of higher education and innovation in the local community. community.
