Local Trains for Tokyo

Transportation by Tokyo by local trains takes about 5 hours (or less) and about 4,000yen.  To find a route, with train transfer information, that is convenient for your travel needs, searh the HyperDia site. BE SURE to unselect, from the lower part of the screen, SHINKANSEN, and leave only “Ordinary Train” and “JR trains” to get routes and fares that are on JR Local lines.

When taking the local lines (not express, Shinkansen trains), you will need to transfer 2 or 3 times to get to Tokyo.
